In Gata, A typical thing is to go to the Market.
If there is something typical of the towns in here, it is the Street Markets. These street stalls that are set up in the squares every week are almost cause for celebration and many women and men who visit take advantage of that day to get together with friends for a brunch and do the talk of the week.
In Gata, every Friday the stalls arrive at the Plaza Nueva early in the morning. The fruit and vegetable vendors begin to set up their tables full of fresh and seasonal products. Those of the clothes begin to hang their shirts, blouses and pants and the florists fill their buckets with flowers.
Here you will find everything: salted fish, olives, fruit and vegetables, clothes, shoes, flowers, sweets, sausages, bedding and towels, etc…
You can take the opportunity to stay with your group and walk around the market, try on some clothes, fill the fridge for the week and when you finish, sit down to have the “almuerzo” as we do on the terreta.
The “Plaça Nova”
This square is located in the center of the town. Here, apart from the Friday Street Market, you will also find a wide variety of shops such as Casa Curro Lotteries, where you can take the opportunity to make your primitive or try your luck with the Euromillion.
If what you need is a gift for your next event such as communions or weddings, at Sarita Jewelry you are sure to get it right. They have sets and watches for adults and children.
If the protagonists of the event are more technological, at Gata Informática you can buy a computer or a tablet and make your gift the best.
“Almuerzo” time!
If you go to the old town, you can sit on the terrace under the Church in Ca Corder or in a shady pedestrian street in Ca Martí.
You can also sit in front of the train station at Bar l’Estació. It has a terrace where it also provides shade and you can take shelter from the heat that is already beginning to set in.
If what you want is to take advantage of the trip to visit the wicker shops on the road, you will have the Bar España, right in front of all of them.
