We return with more joy than ever because this year the Gata Al Carrer fair is more than ever. After 2 years without being able to celebrate the largest trade fair in the region of the Marina Alta, Gata returns to the street celebrating the joy of returning.
Gata wants to celebrate with all the joy of being able to go out again, to gather and show him in the world everyone who in this artisan people know how to do. But during these two days there will not only be crafts. You will also find music, gastronomy, local trade and an endless activities for children and older.
The Fair of this 2022 is one of the most complete in recent years so you can come to spend the day and at all times you will have something to do or look so load the batteries because you have work for a while!
Just enter the Plaza España, you will find two bars at the beginning of the street where you can lunch, eat or dinner. If the one you feel like it is sausage of the butcher shop and directly to the plate, you can buy what you want from the Peixet butcher shop and roast it in the Restaurant Rels, just in front of them and eat it right away.
In this street you will also find florists, handicraft by the school for adults that will be making bolillo, embroidery and endless knitting techniques next to more gastronomy where you can taste, for example, cocas of the nostra thing accompanied by a Beer prepared by Ceveseros Gateros and both made with the wheat of the area (Blat de la Marina).
You cannot miss the Ecofira area, a space that aims to promote and disseminate environmental values, responsible consumption, crafts… will be located at the end of C/ Dr. Moratal, you can find Jaime Signes with photovoltaic solar energy , to Iliüi Eco Design Handmade that reuses tomato cans or olives to make 100% handmade lamps and made to cat.
We will also find the Association of Beekeepers with its honey or Dtycel with organic products for cleaning the home and in bulk, to reduce plastics and waste.
Signes optics will offer tastings of its herbalist and dietary section with natural and ecological products and Glopglop will show us its water filtering system to be able to reduce the amount of plastic bottles used both home and in restaurants and bars.
You can continue your walk along San Miquel Street, where you will find endless local businesses such as clothing store, perfumery, bakeries or hat stores. Here you can entertain yourself for a long time since if something has cat they are shops, many of them centenary.
The little ones also have their area at the fair. You will find the famous «Tour by car», one of the favorite activities of children since they have the opportunity to get into the car and walk with the horses thanks to the Friends of the Gata horse association. The playground and the echo Karts will be found this year the C/ La Pau and where the exhibition of LEGO will also be placed, a show for fans of this construction game.
Apart from having fun, there will also be room for learning thanks to CODA, who will give workshops on how to do Castañuelas, Gospel workshop and a lot of music.
The 17th Gata al Carrer Fair arrives full of corners where the wonderful Valencian cuisine can taste.
The streets of Gata will be filled with stands where they can buy the most traditional sausages made to the butchers of the town such as the marine’s leftover, typical cocas or cakes for food or dinner of bread ovens or stop to make you a beer with tapas with tapas of bars and restaurants. Of course, the sweets that the majority like so much will be lacking.
If you want to snack very well snowed and you are a lover of pumpkin fritters … you can’t miss the stand of the Bunyoleres, which will be on Saturday 8 and from 4pm.
Throughout the fair you will find tables and chairs where you can sit and eat, snack or dinner while talks with friends, family or acquaintances that you find.
