The streets of Gata are once again flooded with art with this outdoor textile art exhibition that fills the balconies with light and color. Art al vent is considered the most important exhibition in the state in textile art and this 2023 can be visited from August 11 to September 3.
Art al Vent is currently the most important open-air exhibition of textile creation in Spain and the most international held in the Valencian Community.
The roots of this exhibition come from the tradition of hanging quilts on the balconies as a procession passes by, deeply rooted in the Marina Alta and especially in Gata de Gorgos, which still keeps it alive.
This year the exhibition, which can be visited from August 11 to September 3, presents its XX edition and you will find it on La Bassa street, where you can enjoy a quiet walk while contemplating this peculiar exhibition.
The exhibition is also accompanied by an extensive complementary cultural program where there will be live music, traditional dances and concerts such as the Gata Music Band.
This great event makes many tourists and visitors come to the town to enjoy, not only the sample, but rather an entire town. Gata has a lot to offer and it is in sight.
Are you in the area during these weeks? Come meet Gata!☺️
Enjoy its gastronomy by visiting its restaurants and tapas bars. We recommend a good typical brunch if you come in the morning or have lunch or dinner in one of our restaurants. As a souvenir, take something typical like a palm bag so fashionable every summer and from the most suitable place: the craft shops of Gata. You can also take home some typical sweets from Gata’s artisan bakeries or homemade sausages made in butcher shops, such as sobrassada.
If you want to rest from the walk and cool off from the August heat, you can stop by Ca El Tramusser and order a lemon granita or an ice cream clotxina. Their recipes are ancestral and handmade. I’m sure you’ll love them!
