XXI Fira Gata al Carrer: three days to experience Gata
From 9 to 11 October, Gata comes to life
In just a few weeks, Gata will once again fill its streets with life for one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year: the 21st Fira Gata al Carrer. And this year there is an important new feature: the fair is expanding to three days, from 9 to 11 October, coinciding with the 9 October public holiday weekend.
Friday 9 October: 4 pm–8 pm
Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October: 10 am–8 pm
Three days to stroll through Gata, discover local shops, meet local craftspeople, taste traditional products and enjoy a programme full of activities.
Local shopping, crafts and much more
The Fira Gata al Carrer is, above all, a showcase of everything that makes our village special. Local businesses bring their products out into the streets, offering visitors a chance to discover the crafts, fashion, accessories, food, services and much more that can be found in Gata all year round.
Llata weaving, palm and wicker crafts will once again take centre stage, with demonstrations and gatherings celebrating these traditional crafts. There will also be a Llata gathering on Saturday 10 October from 11 am to 1 pm, and a bobbin lace gathering on Sunday 11 October from 10 am to 1 pm.
And, of course, food will be another important part of the fair. Local bakeries, butchers, artisan honey, traditional products, craft beer and other local specialities will be waiting to be discovered.
Music, culture and activities for everyone
Throughout the weekend, Gata’s streets will be filled with music and atmosphere, with performances by the Xirimiters i Tabaleters Colla Montgó, Unió Musical de Gata and CODA, among other musical acts.
There will also be cultural and traditional activities, CODA workshops, gospel performances, the traditional Danses de Gata, a horse-and-cart ride and activities for children, including storytelling and family entertainment.
Chess lovers will also be able to enjoy the chess tournament held as part of the fair.
And between one stroll and the next, visitors can discover exhibitions, craft demonstrations and many other activities that will turn the streets of Gata into a showcase of local life.

The XXI Fira Gata al Carrer is the perfect excuse to visit Gata during the October holiday weekend. To stroll, shop, eat, listen to music, discover traditional crafts and, above all, experience village life.
